Teds help Rev Ian with some video editing which it turns out is a new skill that vicars need in these days of being church at a distance. You get ordained and think you know what is entailed but then find out that on the job training is a life long thing. Hey ho.
Lock-down boredom has really begun to set in for Tedi Su and Sandy Lou. They miss seeing all the people that once came to and from the Vicarage. They miss going out and about too. No more assemblies nor hospital visits; no more going to visit people in their homes; no Tea and Toast and no All Age services where they used to have fun joining in.
The teds were caught conspiring with Rev. Obadiah Elation, after another virtual service, about how they might get together for an All-Age. Poor Rev. Elation didn’t quite understand the concept of Virtual Church though. As you can see, Tedi Su takes a moment out of the discussion. Was that the Vicarage Cat she’d heard?
Penny enjoyed hearing Rev’d Mark’s Easter Eve sermon on the theme of Sabbath rest. After the battle with technology on Easter Day (most of it successful) Penny decided that she’d join Rev’d Maggie for a few days off to recharge her batteries and to be ever ready (sorry) to tell the joyful story of the Resurrection later in the week.
Penny watched The Miracle Maker and got up close and friendly with Mary Magdalene. What a transformation in that woman’s life. She became the first to tell the wonderful news that Christ had risen.
Decided to put some chocolate eggs outside today for people to enjoy as the pass by on their daily exercise routine run walk thing.
Teds just popped out to check if we need to get another batch out of the fridge to top up the basket.
Every year I go to the Spring Harvest Christian Conference in Minehead and join with a few thousand other Christians for a week of worship, fellowship and learning.
This year C19 has put paid to that happening but the Spring Harvest Team are going to be having the conference virtually so we can all partake from our homes.
It runs from the 13th to 17th April on YouTube:

Tedi Su and Sandy Lou thoroughly enjoyed joining in the Palm Sunday services. The two teds sat quietly with Luke (Rev Suz’s puppet) and didn’t even mind not helping with the guitar this week.
One of the highlights for the bears was the making of the alternative palm crosses and they were sorry they didn’t decorate their cross. Rev Suz loved seeing the decorated crosses posted up in response.
They were also secretly glad that the Vicarage cat did not join them for the service and at least this time, he didn’t sit outside howling.
At the crematorium this morning with Rev’d Maggie. Ours was the only car in the car park……There’s a new rule that no more than 10 can attend a funeral. All very sad and sorry stuff.
Penny looked at all the palm crosses that have been blessed for those who’d like them, when we meet again. Meanwhile, she’s abandoned her staff and opted to carry a cross for this week.
Like all of us, Penny is trying hard to get to grips with modern tech and following Rev’d Maggie’s services remotely.
