Teds make a new friend

The big plan for this 2020 year was the Teds would get to meet new people every week or even every day but when lock down came in March that all changed and now the bears are lucky if they meet somebody new each month!

However today Zaria came along to say a prayer and met Ted1 and Ted2 for the first time. The Teds shared their rations with her in exchange for a photo.

If you want to come say a prayer check out our website to see when we are open – its all changing every week now: http://www.lphparish.org.uk/index.html

Meeting Humans

When you consider that back in January February the Teds were meeting new people every day it does seem surreal that come the summer its become such a rare occurrence. But the Teds did get to meet Alex and Kim who had to come personally (albeit socially distanced) to fulfill the requirements so they could have a Common License to enable them to marry in Bridgend in the near future.

All the best Alex and Kim. Make sure you decide before the big day whose job it is to put the bins out – we don’t want any arguments.

Sunny but sad

The sun is out (sometimes) and the Teds have got their sunglasses on for a summer of meeting people but they are sad as the social distancing means that only a handful of folks can be in the church at any one time.

How long will this apocalypse drag on?

Answers on the back of a £51 note to The Teds, The Rectory, Penoced.

Teds become parish reps

Due to social distancing (anybody else finding this annoying now?) I was not able to be at the cathedral where Rev Glenda was ordained and welcomed into the fold as our curate but I sent along two woolly parish reps to stand in for the rest of us.

Welcome aboard Rev Glenda!!!

Glenda is happy to be contacted on 07592 149538 or

Hats off to the Teds

It’s been so hot over the last few weeks that the Ted’s have officially removed their headgear now the Spring has arrived in this Pilgrimage 2020 year – which is not going as anyone thought.

Hey ho. Keep safe.

Teds on parade

Teds came to the ATC squadron with me again in what is being the new normal of virtual meetings. They sat and watched as the squadron got to grips with a quiz I had found on Covid-19.

Why a clergyman doing a quiz and not talking about God? Well I was interested in what ‘truths’ the teenagers had picked up from the media about Covid-19 and wanted to make sure they were informed and not scared.

We then had a discussion about highs and lows of lock down of which there were thoughts from both sides of the equation.

Tedsediting

Teds help Rev Ian with some video editing which it turns out is a new skill that vicars need in these days of being church at a distance. You get ordained and think you know what is entailed but then find out that on the job training is a life long thing. Hey ho.

Teds check the stock

Decided to put some chocolate eggs outside today for people to enjoy as the pass by on their daily exercise routine run walk thing.

Teds just popped out to check if we need to get another batch out of the fridge to top up the basket.

Teds signup for Spring Harvest Home

Every year I go to the Spring Harvest Christian Conference in Minehead and join with a few thousand other Christians for a week of worship, fellowship and learning.

This year C19 has put paid to that happening but the Spring Harvest Team are going to be having the conference virtually so we can all partake from our homes.

It runs from the 13th to 17th April on YouTube:

The Teds helped me to signup today. Are you going to signup?

Teds ponder

Took the Teds out to the front garden yesterday after it had got dark so they could see the candles we put in the upper windows and light at 7pm each evening.

It’s a reminder, I explained to them, that Jesus is the light of the world and that we have a God who is bigger than the universe and bigger than any of our fears, walking with us.

I think they slept better after their ponder.

Keep safe everyone
